One of my client's was raving about his visit to the UK Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo so I thought I'd look into it. It was a welcome surprise to see Thomas Heatherwick heading up the project, he's a talent I've admired for long time. The "Seed Cathedral" has been honoured with the 2010 Lubetkin Prize and it's not hard to see why - what a mind blowing structure. Take a look at more of Heatherwick's work here -

I've posted about Danish architect Bjarke Ingels before, so it was great to see him in person at the AIGA Gain conference. He presented some work he's doing for Audi on the future of motoring, which was both visionary and entertaining as I've come to expect from this character. If you ever get the opportunity to listen to him I'd strongly recommend it, his passion and ideas are always inspiring.

Loving this simple graphical approach to this house by Architecture W. As with all japanese sites it seems to be tight but the way the space has been handled here is really smart. check out more of their work here -

Following on the Australian theme (check Marc Newson post), here's a link to one of my favourite antipodean design companies Fabio Ongarato. Whether it's Art Direction, Identity or Interior's there's always a really considered feel to their work - love it!

My pal Tobias Appelgren is starting a design service in partnership with kick ass architects Snøhetta. Check Snøhetta's proposal for the Ocean Space Centre to be situated off the coast of Norway. It's a great prospect, all the best mate!
